Post Re: Site Rules & FPS Limits
Hello! I am looking to come to a skirmish sometime in the early summer, I own a A&K SVD Dragunov bolt action sniper, I have never chron-ed it so I don't know what fps it is but on the site I bought it from it said 450+fps... I can buy a new spring for it to lower the power a bit (I know how to, so the technicalities do not matter) but I just thought I would check before I spent money on it :) I'm really happy that you are allowed to use snipers at such a high fps though, the other places I have looked at limit all their guns to one fps...making snipers little better than spring pistols :P
Thanks
Joe

Good to have you along, be sure to note the minimum engagement distance of 30m as well and that you would need a backup weapon (pistol at least) with you.

It may be wise, yes if it was stated to be 450+ fps (it could be 480 for all you know). A 130sp spring or equivalent should put you at about the right fps; or a 120sp to be on the safe side (different setups yield different results with the same parts).

30yds is about the length of a swimming pool. All I can say is, if in doubt, don't shoot ;)

And as Ian said, you need a sidearm of some description.

All else I can say is good hunting :)
